Sanderson's  patented flange design requires no gasketsThe FF391 header fits big block Ford FE engines in 1965-Up Ford and Mercury full size cars, including Ford Galaxie, Mercury Monterey, and Lincoln Continental. Does not fit MEL engines.

NOTES:

  1. Installation requires disconnecting the passenger side idler arm and the power steering slave unit (if so equipped) to make room for the header to under chassis exhaust hookup. Reconnect these components according to factory recommended procedure following header installation.
  2. If your application has the larger Ford "coffee can" starter (common on convertibles but found on other applications as well), or other larger or incompatibly clocked starter you will need to change to a normal size or preferrably a mini-starter. The Powermaster #9606 or RobbMC #3001 mini starters are recommended replacements.

Comes with all hardware necessary for installation.

    No, the FF391 (as the description states) fits 1965-up applications. The correct header for a 1963 Galaxie using the Ford FE engine is part #FF390.

    66 Galaxie 428 convertible with Power Steering & 4 Spd. Will I have any fit issues with this combination? Will these headers hook up to the standard exhaust system the same as the OE Manifolds would?

    No, you won't have fit problems. No, they do not bolt directly to the original exhaust. Please read this article:

    Will the 65– full size ford headers fit a 65 Ford Thunderbird with the 390???
    I see you don’t make for 67 Tbird.
    If they do fit, any modifications needed?

    No, the FF391 will not fit the Thunderbird. The Fifth generation T-bird chassis is different than the 3rd and 4th generation enough to where the FF394 (Thunderbird-specific header) is not compatible. Considerable modifications would be required on the '67 chassis.

Sanderson Street Rod Headers strives to supply our customers with the highest quality parts and service available in the street rod industry. In keeping with this, we warrant and will repair or replace, at our option after inspection in our facility, any of our products which are found by us to have failed due to defects in either material or workmanship.  This warranty is activated by the return of the Warranty Card enclosed with every pair of headers, and is effective for FIVE YEARS * from the date of purchase as indicated on the original invoice.

This Warranty does not cover products that fail due to improper motor tuning, alteration, disassembly, or damage caused by racing, misuse, neglect, abuse, improper installation and/or accident, or when used on applications for which they were not designed or approved. We are specifically not responsible for the costs of removal, installation, transportation, destruction of other components, inconvenience, loss of time, or other personal damages, or for any other associated costs including the application of aftermarket coatings applied by others. Sanderson Street Rod headers shall not be liable for any and all consequential damages occasioned by the breach of any written or implied warranty pertaining to this sale in excess of the purchase price of the product(s) as found on the original invoice.

WRAPPING HEADERS WITH THERMAL TAPE VOIDS WARRANTY.

 

* Extremely compact header designs which locate the collector in close proximity to the exhaust ports are very sensitive to engine tuning. Improper air/fuel mix or timing of ignition and/or valvetrain can cause early failure due to excessive heat. For this reason, part numbers CC2 and CC3 are offered with a two-year Warranty period only. All other Warranty conditions apply.
