1942 Chevrolet G506 WW-II Cargo Truck

1942 Chevy Model G506 WW-II 1-1/2 ton 4x4 Cargo Truck.
Paul Ripa - Miami, FL

I have had it for 25 years and first put in a small block and Allison AT 545 trans. For [Big Rips] 65th birthday [June 6,1942, D Day], I bought him a 540 Merlin big block Rat with 871 BDS blower, twin Holley 950s, put together to crank out about 960 HP, and of course Sanderson headers are handling the exhaust gases. Yes, they are on backwards! The Allison trans adapter takes a special starter and housing that is much longer than stock and the trans uses a huge U-shaped crossmember. By swapping sides I cleared the starter and since the collectors are further forward, I now have a smoother transition from the angle adapters to the exhaust pipes. When completed I will send more pics for readers rides and maybe your catalog. Last pic is computor graphic of the projected finished product. Thanks Paul Ripa
